Automation of houses with Simatic S7-200
SIMATICA is a software
that allows the design and development of domotics projects with,
for example, light control, alarms, heating control, garden irrigation,
etc. Most of these functions are in our houses, business and offices.
This software is the update of SIMATICA V1.0 of SIEMENS. SIMATICA
V2.1 has been developed by GENIA group and is property of SIEMENS.
Addressing
The installer will select the control functions of the house.
He/she will select the most appropriate architecture (centralized,
decentralized or hybrid) and
input and
ouput addresses 
(it is posible an automatic addressing too). In few minutes, it
is possible to obtain the control program needed for controlling
the house and TD-200 messages for its management.
Control program
SIMATICA will automatically generate the control program
for the selected CPU. SIMATICA uses these CPUs: 214, 215, 216,
222, 224 and 226, which are from the S7-200 PLC family of SIEMENS.
To decentralized and hybrid architectures, the software will
use AS-i bus and the components needed by it, from SIEMENS too.
Architecture
SIMATICA allows centralized architecture (inputs and outputs
connected to PLC inputs/outputs or to extended modules), decentralized
(inputs and outputs connected to AS-i modules) and hybrid (mix
of centralized and decentralized). In the next graphic, centralized
architecture is shown.
Electrical schemes
SIMATICA generates, for every domotic project, the electrical
schemes needed to make the installation.
 
These schemes are available in the screen and in paper (there
is an option for printing schemes).
Management of components and estimates
This application allows the management of domotics component
data base and an automatic generation of estimates. The installer
can create, modify and delete components and manufacturers from
the data base. For each domotics project, it will automatically
create the estimate in SIMATICA format and EXCEL format.
